Tails & Fins On The Slick
Posted 09 July 2012, 12:04 am NDT
With the amount of rain that has fallen on the Eagle River Plateau over the past couple of days the river has once again began to rise.
We noticed that it has risen about 2 - 3 inches (8cm) since this morning and know that this is only the beginning.
Rain on the Eagle River Plateau typically takes 2 days to reach us here and there has been quite a bit of rain there in the past couple of days.
I expect that we will see quite a change in water levels when we look at the river in the morning.
The fishing was a little slow yesterday, but one veteran told me that he could see an improvement in the action today.
One of the Guides told me that while he was fishing on the slick (one of the prime pools) just before dark. As the sun started to set he could tell that there was a fresh run of Salmon entering the river because all around him tails and fins were showing.
Our guests are anxious to get up to Pratt's in the morning.
