Water Levels Make Travel Difficult
Posted 10 August 2011, 8:32 am NDT
The level of the water has now made travel around the river very difficult.
There are only 2 places on the river where anglers are being successful; Pratt Falls & the Air Force pools.
As for the other pools on the river the water is either too slow or you are unable to navigate there by boat.
The flow of water has slowed considerably and a couple of our guides report that they were unable to get the normal swing on their fly in the bathtub. They also found that the boat was getting pushed up past the buoys by a back eddy that has now formed there.
It is amazing the think that just 3 weeks ago we were unable to fish the bathtub because the water was too turbulent.
Work continues around the Lodge and we will host 2 anglers and their wives who have confirmed; on Saturday for a couple of days. We are still awaiting a decision by another group of 6 anglers but it is starting to look like Monday could be the end of our season.
