It was a 'Large' day
Posted 10 July 2011, 5:16 pm NDT
Here in Labrador we tend to call a fine weather day a "large Labrador day". Well, the weather wasn't the best with very cool north easterly winds and very light drizzle. But this was still our largest day yet with three 20 pounders hooked and released on the river today with one of them a guest from our lodge.
One long time guest to the Eagle River commented that the large fish are the largest on average that he has seen in the 20+ years he has been angling on the river.
Four of our guests had great success on an excursion to the White Bear today. And with water levels stabilizing after a twelve inch rise, anglers have been getting much better action on Eagle today than yesterday.
Our new guide, Vance Curl, is having a great time with his first guests this year. Vance temp-ed for us a week last season and we are pleased to have him back for the 2011 season as a full-time guide.
