Rain in the Forecast
Posted 10 July 2011, 1:13 am NDT
River levels continue to rise. It looks as if we are in for a wet summer.

The current forecast shows possibility of rain for the next week.

This will keep water levels up for the foreseeable future.

I had the opportunity to accompany a guest in William's Run today. While I was there I did see a lot of fish jumping. I would estimate that during that time a fish would jump about every 5 or 6 minutes.

Although the River was full the catch rates for today were slightly lower than yesterday, but most of our anglers still had multiple hook-ups. One veteran angler said "It's hard to catch fish on a rising river."

Nelson explained to me that with the increase in water level the clarity of the water decreases, and the Salmon have difficulty seeing the fly unless the fish is in the upper water level.

Tomorrow we have another group of anglers taking an excursion to White Bear for a little fun.
