Yes, it is record breaking times here on Eagle. But not in a good way. The group that just left yesterday: Many of them had personal best ever fishing in 2022 here with us. This year I would say is the worst for many of them. This heat wave, and subsequent warm water and DFO morning only fishing has made for some unprecedented and tough times here on the Eagle. So much so that our July 21 group has decided to cancel. There is some hope for the July 26th group as there is some rain in the forecast over the weekend, and the temps are in the 20s instead of the 30s. The water is still very warm. 24-25c, daily, and dropping to a low flow making for difficult navigation and less deep cool pools.

The outgoing group did manage to hook up. No goose eggs amongst them, but with an average of .56 fish per angler per day, that is a record low for us. Proof that prime time is not always prime, I guess. The fish are here. Many pools filled with them and many seen in the estuary. The problem is in these temps they are just trying to survive, and not taking flies.

We are watching the forecast, and hoping for improved conditions so we can get back to some sense of normalcy. This will go down as a year to remember, that is for sure.
