A little mechanical trouble delayed my arrival to the lodge yesterday, but it was nice to get there and be approached by some happy guests about their experience so far since arriving on Thursday. The fishing has been good, the food, weather, guiding. All great commented one guest. We're thrilled to hear that as it is always our goal to ensure you have a great time when we host you on the Eagle.
Lets talk about the fish. Everyone has been hooking up. Not huge numbers of fish being caught, but the quality of them has been fantastic. A 24lber caught and released, and the camp has been into a lot of 18-20lb salmon. What a time that is! If you've never experienced the thrill of a 20lb silver salmon, fresh from the Labrador Sea, it's time you pay us a visit!!
We welcome 6 more guests to the lodge today. They are an experienced bunch looking for big fish. I expect they will find a few! The river is still quite high, but has dropped nearly a meter in the last week, and a change in flow of about 400 cubic meters per second. The water is still cold, but the forecast has a couple days with some heat and clear skies in it, and then cooler days with showers. Could bode very well for fishing conditions.
