Great fishing!

The fishing has been great since our last update. We had new guests arrive Friday and yesterday. Some rookies in the mix and both of them had some action in their very first sessions here on the Eagle! Experienced anglers are doing very well. There's still a good mix of large salmon and the grilse run seems to now be pouring on strong. Some of our guides have reported seeing pools 'alive' with fish.
The weather over the weekend was hot. Blistering hot and windy. The water continued to fall and still does. The level is great for fishing and we are starting to see some pools form up that we have had scarce opportunity to fish in recent years due to high water. The air temps exceeded 30c over the weekend and water temps got up to 64f/18c. A northerly wind and cold front moved in overnight and we seen heavy rains and cold (810c) air temps today. A drastic change which should result in cooler water and slowing or stopping the downward trend in water level.
Our guests in now are enjoying fishing that some do not see in a lifetime. Eagle is a special place and we do everything we can at Pratt Falls Salmon Lodge to compliment the experience that this magical river offers. Leaving you with this pic snapped by guest Gina as her partner Ryan plays one of many salmon in Backriver with the lodge in the background. One happy guy in the foreground. Also a real playground!
