Tough water, great group, and some success to start the season

Happy July 4th to all of our American guests and friends! We have a couple days of fishing under us now with the current group and things are going well. The fishing has been tough with very high water and absolutely horrendous weather, but that hasn't stopped most of our guests from getting into large salmon, several with multiple hook ups, and yesterday evening some grilse showed up!
The weather is downright rotten. A cold nor'easter has been whipping us with rain, drizzle, fog, and wind and has been enough to chill your bones. This group and our guides are resilient though, and spirits in camp are high. With fishing tough and limited pools formed up one group went to White Bear yesterday and had great success and another party is gone this morning. The weather cooperated enough for them to have a shore lunch of fresh caught wild salmon on the banks of the White Bear, and release their limit of beauty large fish.
Despite the wet weather, Eagle continues to fall and is now down to 3.75M. It still has a way to go to be ideal but every day is a little better. We are hoping the weather opens up to clear skies to help it fall a little faster. One thing for sure, there are a ton of fish going in right now. We are seeing them jumping, rolling and porpoising all over the river.
So, the conditions are tough, the fish are here, the atmosphere in camp is fantastic, the food is great, and it's all good here on the Eagle River. A few pictures of the last couple days' activity. Pics like these help keep us warm through the cold weather!
I'll tell you what else keeps us warm... the food. Our cook, Janet put out a feed of pork chops that had renown chef, Jeremy Charles, coming back for more. The next night, Jeremy Charles and Jeremy Bonia treat us to a lamb ragu by J Charles paired with wines by J Bonia! What a treat that was absolutely to die for!! Real pleasure having these gentlemen with their skill and personality in camp for a few days.
