Up she rises!

For the first time in 10 years, we just had an overnight delay for our guests changing over due to weather. Flights are getting moving again this morning and we hope to be welcoming our new guests around noon and bidding farewell to a group that was fantastic to host, and had phenomenal fishing. The river became prime for a couple days and the fish were plenty. This group maxed out on their C&R and had the best fishing we have seen in a few years.
So, lets talk about that weather holding planes yesterday. Man o man! Water! We were hoping that most of the rain was coastal, but obviously not. The river came up 2 feet overnight and continues to rise. The water temp yesterday was 60F and that is likely now cooled a few degrees further. A very successful year for the salmon making their journey again, but it will for sure slow fishing with less holding water.
All is not lost, however! Our guides will turn to high water fishing locations like Back River, Lem's Lane, Bear Island, etc, and we will find some fish! We have a full moon on the 27th and that should bring good runs of fish as well. We know they are still pouring in, so now it is a matter of holding water and hooking up as they pass through.
Below is the water chart this morning. Beyond our control, so we will focus even harder on the things within our control and show our next group a great time!
