Cold, high, seeing more fish
Posted 09 July 2018, 7:23 am NDT
With a little rain on the weekend the river stopped falling for about 24 hrs but has begun to drop again. With it so high we are starting to see more and more fish porpoising, but the action is still tough. Guides are still reporting hooking smolts as well. Saturday was our first day seeing the camp get into double digit hookups of nearly all large salmon. Despite the tough conditions, spirits were high, and this mixed group who departed yesterday are all waiting for 2019!
We welcomed a new group yesterday and a couple of them have already been playing salmon. the water still isn't up to 60F, which is good, but hopefully will continue to fall all week to form up more pools.
First time Guest, Ed, sent us this email yestarday after his departure.
"Dwight
I want to thank you and your staff for a truly great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the last 5 days on the Eagle. I particularly would like to thank Nelson who was a fantastic guide and helped me a great deal with his coaching and his knowledge of the river. Also a special thank you to Janet and Arch for the fantastic meals they prepared.
Nelson took a few photos of the fish I landed. I wonder if you would be able to email them to me when you get a chance."
So we sent Ed his pictures, and here is one of the action photos.
