A great week of big fish!
Posted 09 July 2017, 8:31 am NDT
Despite the high water and wet weather this group has had a very successful 5 days at camp. Over 100 fish hooked since July 4th with approx 80% large salmon. We had one 4th year repeat guest remark the size of the fish and the largest landed was estimated at around 25lbs, with many in 16-20lb range.
The weather is still wet and the river rose a few inches last night. We can only guess at how many fish are moving through with this high cold water, but we figure "'tis a lot!". The water temp averaged 59F for the week. We hope the water cooperates and goes into a steady slow decline. One thing for certain, we have enough water to sustain good water levels for the rest of this season.
So we say so long to the group departing today and look forward to seeing them again, and welcome back a group of familiar faces that we expect will have a great trip!
