Fish piling in this evening
Posted 28 June 2016, 10:04 pm NDT
The last couple of days we have seen more and more fish coming into the river. We have been able to see them porpoising and jumping in front of the lodge. Nelson hooked a large fish in Back River last night. But tonight, the action came to life! Theodore hooked a large fish, and Hedley and Nels went fishing together and got into a double header with fish estimated at 12 and 15 lbs! Nothing like a June double header with two large fish! Here is a pic. The guys certainly had a good time. They all reported seeing a lot of fish moving this evening, and with the high water we expect they are barreling through.

The river has dropped significantly the last few days, we experienced some hard showers today over the Eagle Plateau so that could result in the river coming up or holding for a while. There are some great high water pools fishing now. The air temps were a cool 5-6 degrees C today, and the water temps are also very cool at 15-16 C (60F).
