Another great week ends, and a new one starts tomorrow.

We say "see ya next year" to our group of diehard repeat offenders. This crew of anglers know the Eagle River 'almost' ;) as well as our guides. And they just had a fantastic week of fishing. It was a high ratio of large fish and the last few days of this week we started to see maxi-grilse arriving.
Rising water conditions usually do not produce good fishing, but despite rising water the action was very good. This group has seen the very best Eagle has to offer and when they walk away saying it was a good week...it means that by all other standards, it was a great week!
We suffered weather delays yesterday getting the plane in to pick up this group. Fog, cold, thunder and lightening, rain...you name it. And to top it off, very low tides! But as you can see in this photo, after heading ashore at the float plane mooring and having a little fire to kill the chill, there wasn't much dampness in the moods of this group. This was after waiting about 4 hours for the weather to clear! See you next year fellas, it is always a pleasure.
This weekend we have a short break as we await the arrival of a group from Belgium tomorrow. Repeat guests for 4 years running, and we are expecting a good week of fishing. Hopefully the river turns to fall and looking at the forecast that should happen.
Also, we are glad to have two staff family members in for the weekend! Marj's daughter, Andrea, just hooked her first ever atlantic salmon! We should have pictures in the 2014 picture gallery later today! Congrats, Andrea. And also visiting is Bob's wife, Kay. They are on the water as well and hopefully will have a catch to show off later today.
