The Eagle proves risilient

No doubt about it the water level is abnormally low for this time of year. We have seen it much lower but a dry July month has brought the river down to 1.6 meters. More and more fishing is being done by wading now than we usually do.

But, despite the tough conditions, Eagle is still producing for our guests! There are plenty of cool deep holes with fish and they are taking fly. Not the numbers that our guests are used to (Eagle has them spoiled, haha!) but they are still averaging 2-3 a day each and yesterday evening we watched plenty of tight lines on the river.

There was some hard rain showers inland yesterday according to first hand reports so we are hopeful that this will sustain and maybe even raise the river a little! Do a rain dance for us, but don't worry...we'll keep finding fish!! A few of this week's guests take an annual trip out into Sandwich Bay to do some sea trouting. We will be doing that today. Sure to be a fun time for everybody!
