Beating Last Years Numbers Already

Water Levels are still falling. We will know sometime tomorrow if the rain in Happy Valley - Goose Bay Area yesterday will have any effect. It will take 2 days for it to reach us here and make any noticeable difference.
Fishing yesterday was a little slower than our guests have been experiencing up to this point in the week, but they are not complaining. You have to understand that when I tell you that it is a little slower it doesn't mean that they are not catching fish, simply that they are not catching as many fish.
After speaking to our returning guests last evening they have all indicated that they are already ahead of what they caught last year and still have 3 full days of angling left. In fact one pair, who have been returning to the Eagle for many years, told me that this is the best fishing they have ever had.
Evenings are spent recalling the battles of the day and the ones that got away. The funny incidents that happen on the river and where they plan to fish tomorrow. Of course almost every evening we are asked about bookings for next year.
You can check the availability by clicking the link on the left of this page. There are slots still available but I can tell you from what I have seen that they are filling up very fast. That is no surprise to us because we see every day the smiles of successful anglers who can't wait to get back on the water.
